Last Friday the Riviera International Centre in Torquay was the host to a circles reunion skate. The evenings reunion skate also doubled up as a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust meaning that the fun time had by all would also benefit a really worth charity that is helping overcome and defeat this awful disease. The tickets for the event sold out days just before so we all knew that it should be a good one. When arriving it could clearly be seen that it had attracted a mix of the older generation who had dusted off their skates as to relive their youth for just a night and the youngsters who were maybe experiencing it all for the very first time.
The Revolution skate team were there both showing their support and helping to run the event with the bulk of the team running the door and the skate hire while Mitch was running some of the games and spinning some tunes on the decks. The hall soon filled up which made it very interesting at times but without a doubt still a great laugh. There was a few speed skates for those who wanted to go super fast, the trolly race which proved to be very funny as well as the obligatory massive conga line. The only shame was that we had to leave at Eight Thirty but from what we saw every one was clearly having a brilliant time. Fingers crossed this is not a one off and that more regular roller discos are held in the Torbay area.
