This month we have caught up with our very own team rider; Devon Low to see what some of his favourite albums are and why.
Mac Miller – Blue Slide Park
Mac Miller is easily one of the best rappers out there in the genre due to the songs he’s produced. Many of his songs are different and never sound the same, which is unique. His style in this album is mainly chilled but also contains some upbeat tunes and has a constant flow in his lyrics, which is sweet to sesh to. My personal favourite in this album is ‘One last Thing’ & ‘PA Nights’. The album was released in 2011 and still is going well 3 years later. His songs have a meaning to it and each song is something that he cares about.
Logic – Young Sinatra(Undeniable)
Logic needs more recognition due to his rap flow being meaningful and genuine. He is hugely influenced by Frank Sinatra which makes him stand out from the other rappers. He is intelligent in how he raps and makes the rhymes almost effortless when producing music. This album was released in 2012. My favourite songs from this album is ‘Set the Tone’ & ‘Young Sinatra III’. This album isn’t for everyone but it’s worth listening to him.
The Jungle Giants – She’s a Riot
The Jungle Giants are one of my favourite bands and should be recognised by most people because in each song there is a different story and they express this by jamming out! Despite the album being only five songs deep, each track is incredible! The album was released in 2012 and my favourite songs are ‘She’s a riot’ & ‘Back to the start’.
Passion Pit – Manners
Once again Passion Pit needs be recognised by a larger audience due to their amazingly original sound which makes good music to ride to. My personal favourite songs are ‘Sleepyhead’ ‘Seaweed song’ and ‘To kingdom come’. ‘Manners’ was released in 2009 and is easily the most chilled album out there to this day.
